The Fariss family (Kevin, Angela, Kristen, Austin and Lily) thank you for taking the time to learn about our family business.  Established in 1996, we take great pride in the quality meats we offer to our customers. Our animals are all home-raised, each is given plenty of TLC. The difference between the animals raised on our farm and meat sold in grocery stores is best reflected in flavor. Some differences include:

1) Our Animals Are Naturally-Fed. We believe an animal needs to grow the way God intended, without using steroids or growth enhancing drugs and chemicals. Eliminating these artificial additives enables the meat to contain more marbling which in turn gives meat more natural juices, thus adding to flavor and tenderness.

2) Our Animals Are Home Raised. The calves are born on the ranch from our own breeding herd and finished to market weight on the ranch. The hogs are purchased from a neighbor shortly after weaning, and finished on our farm. The chickens are shipped to us day- old from a northern Iowa hatchery and butchered right on the farm upon market readiness.

3) Tender Loving Care. We take great pride in treating our animals in the most humane manner possible. We also hand feed every animal daily. We believe this routine reduces an animal’s stress level as they have constant human interaction, further aiding meat tenderness.
